This is purely a desire to satisfy a Church boy's dream of seeing an almost complete story of Christ. Painstaking work was incorporated to this version and is a fan project and not for sale. In his book Zeffirelli himself mentions he wanted to include more scenes. This version is in no way meant to replace Franco Zeffirelli's Masterpiece. This version is for those who like myself want more Biblicalnarrative within the film so many cherish. Thus I collected more footage to finally complete my vision while including more scenes I always held close to my heart. Therefore I set out to make this scene with the pictures and desert scenes to not need to see other Bible films for this sequence. When I purchased Franco Zeffirelli's book "Jesus A Spiritual Diary”, I read that he indeed did film the sequence but at the last moment cut it. One of the most important scenes for me was the "Temptations in the Desert". I thought it was worth the effort at least for myself if there were delelted scenes that would be nice to include. As time passed I decided to search for footage to incorporate into the film even though there was already so much Film time (6hours plus). One day I saw still pictures not in the film and thought some scenes might exist somewhere. Though openly gay, Zeffirelli was and is (at age 93) a devout Roman Catholic who took his job seriously.

I was always awe struck every time Christ appeared. Burgess was rehired, and in place of Moses's Gianfranco De Bosio, Grade hired Franco Zeffirelli, likewise a stage producer-director of opera and, in his case, film versions of Shakespeare (The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet). I remember growing up watching it every Easter.
